Nails clicking on the floor, how short is too short

I can hear him coming down the hall. I have the clippers, I have watched the videos, and I am still scared of the quick.

Take a tiny sliver at a time and stop when you see a small pale circle appear in the cut end. That circle is your warning that you are getting close. Little and often beats one big go.

A grinder was less terrifying for both of us than clippers. Took a week of just letting her hear it switched on first.
