Flea treatment timing when you have both a cat and a dog

Dog is monthly, cat is every three months, and I have lost track of which is due when. Also the dog's one is not safe for cats, which I only found out this year.

Not veterinary advice

Nobody here is your vet, and no vet reviews these posts. Community experience is genuinely useful for working out whether something is worth worrying about - but if your animal is unwell, in pain, or has stopped eating or drinking, call a vet rather than waiting for a reply.

Set a recurring calendar reminder per animal and keep them apart for the few hours the spot on takes to dry. That second part matters more than people realise in a house with both.
